To make your orchid bloom in the best possible way, you can rely on a simple and quick method: here’s how to do it.

Feeding the Orchid

With the arrival of spring, we witness the explosion of nature, with flowers and plants once again overtaking the cities. Many people decide to enhance their garden and the interior of their homes with some of the world’s most beautiful flowers. Among them is undoubtedly the orchid, a wonderful flower that brings a burst of color to any room. It’s no wonder that orchids are chosen to adorn apartments, offices, professional studios, and various workplaces. In addition to their undeniable beauty, orchids also release a captivating fragrance that fills every corner of the home.

With This Simple Method, Your Orchid Will Always Bloom

How do you make your orchid bloom through all four seasons? Green-thumb enthusiasts often ask this question, knowing that orchids can sometimes struggle to bloom.

For this magnificent flower to guarantee continuous blooms, it is essential to care for it properly, by watering and feeding it consistently.

Many choose to rely on fertilizers readily available on the market, but the advice is to opt for a natural product that is easy to make and, most importantly, economical.

Orchid Care

The first thing to do is to place five tablespoons of rice into a bowl, then pour 500 ml of room-temperature water over it. Once this is done, mix the rice well with the water. After mixing, pour the rice into another container and strain the liquid using a sieve.

Moisten a cotton ball with the resulting water and apply the solution to both the top and bottom of the orchid leaves, carefully cleaning them and removing any traces of fungi and insects. Additionally, this solution will provide the leaves with the necessary nutrients for the orchid’s growth. This procedure should be repeated every two weeks to encourage the strong and lush growth of this wonderful plant.

An alternative method is to pour the rice water obtained from the previous procedure into a spray bottle using a funnel.

This way, you can spray the solution on both the underside and top of the leaves. The effectiveness is practically the same as the method with cotton. The most important thing to remember is not to spray rice water on the flowers, as this could damage them.

Rice Water Can Be Frozen and Reused

Finally, it’s always a good idea to pour some rice water into the orchid’s soil to provide the roots with essential nutrients for growth. This operation should be repeated every two weeks.

Watering Orchids

In a short time, you will easily realize how beneficial rice water is for your orchid. This natural fertilizer helps the plant thrive, creating a beautiful display of nature in your garden and home.

Those who do not want to waste the rice water can also freeze it to reuse the next time without having to repeat the whole process. When defrosting, it’s important to bring the water to room temperature before using it to nourish the orchids.
